Learn how to join yarn step by step, with pictures and descriptions.

You will need to tie two yarns together when your ball is finished and you need to change it, or when you change colors at a specific point in the work.

Sometimes a ball is not made up of one whole yarn but of several. In this case, the yarn is already tied with a knot, but it is often of poor quality. Check the knot by pulling on the yarns, and redo it if necessary.

Make 2 loops this way. Insert each yarn into the opposite loop
Tie a knot on each loop
Tighten the knots to close them
Pull
Cut the yarns
